Antennas / RF Engineer – Thales
Location: Hengelo, Netherlands
About the Role
The development of modern phased‑array radars requires a multi‑disciplinary approach. In your role as an Antenna/RF Engineer you will work on new antenna and/or microwave concepts, introduce new technologies, and develop antenna designs. You will be involved in every phase of the radar development life‑cycle—from feasibility studies and concept definition to development, product realization, and qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the antenna and microwave components of radar development in close cooperation with system designers, mechanical engineers, production technologists, and supply chain personnel.
- Conduct feasibility analyses, develop concept designs, and collaborate across disciplines in an international environment.
- Develop new antenna designs, perform simulations, and validate prototypes through testing and qualification activities.
- Stay current with external developments in relevant technical fields and evaluate their applicability to Thales radar solutions.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- 5 + years of experience in antenna, microwave design, and related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of antenna and microwave concepts.
- Creative, innovative, and practical problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (both written and spoken).
- Independent teamwork ability – capable of working autonomously while collaborating closely with others.
